The Stakeholder Group was established by DAERA to bring together farming, food processing and environmental interests that would help develop recommendations for the next Nutrients Action Programme.

Over many months, organisations with different perspectives worked constructively, drawing on scientific evidence, consultation feedback and practical experience to develop a balanced package of proposals.

While not every issue was straightforward, the process demonstrated that different interests can come together to find solutions that support both improved water quality and a sustainable agri-food sector.
